PadRoute features

Set your vehicle. Check the trip. Know what is ahead.

Plan a route, check what the road data says for your vehicle and follow it with turn-by-turn directions. You can also look up stops and recent driver reports at any time.

Know the road

See what the road data says for your vehicle

Choose the preset that matches your vehicle. PadRoute shows which roads are shown as approved, where conditions apply, what needs a closer look and what is restricted—and tells you why.

  • Choose from more than 1,100 vehicle presets built from NHVR vehicle definitions.
  • See roads shown as approved, conditions and restrictions
  • Know when the data cannot give a clear answer

Before you commit

Check the whole trip before you leave

PadRoute checks the route section by section. You can see where conditions apply, where access is not shown as approved and what you need to check for yourself.

  • Check the full trip, not just the next road
  • See conditions separately from restrictions
  • Confirm you have reviewed anything important

On the move

Hear about access changes before you reach them

Follow turn-by-turn directions while PadRoute is open. If the access status changes ahead, PadRoute warns you before you reach it and shows what applies.

  • Turn-by-turn directions while PadRoute is open
  • Choose voice, sound and vibration alerts
  • Get warned before the access status changes

Know the stop

Know what you are pulling into

Look up rest areas, service stations, truck parking, public weighbridges and inspection sites. See what drivers found, including whether inspectors were seen, and how recently they reported it.

  • Stop information across Australia
  • Time-stamped reports from drivers
  • Useful even when you are not following a route

Show the evidence

Read the condition. Check the official source.

PadRoute shows the condition that applies and where it came from. When you want to check it yourself, open the official source straight from the app.

Useful on every run

Set it up once. Get on with the job.

Save the vehicles, places and routes you use most. PadRoute keeps the routine work close, so you can get to the road checks that matter.

Change vehicles without starting over

Save the vehicles you drive, then switch combinations without setting each one up again.

Get moving from the places you use

Save your depot and regular locations instead of searching for them again on every run.

Get back to familiar routes quickly

Keep recent and favourite routes close when you want to check a regular run again.

Bring a shared NHVR route with you

Open a shared NHVR route in PadRoute instead of building it again from the beginning.

Choose how PadRoute gets your attention

Use voice, sound and vibration so access changes are easier to catch before you reach them.

Look back at the drives that matter

Review drive activity saved on your device when you need to retrace or compare a run.

Keep the screen comfortable in the cab

Switch between light and dark mode to suit the light around you.

Use the units that make sense to you

Choose metric or imperial once and keep distances and measurements familiar.

Australian coverage

Stops across Australia. Road checks in five states and territories.

Find stops and facilities across Australia, including rest areas, service stations, truck parking and public weighbridges. Road access checks use available NHVR data for the ACT, New South Wales, Queensland, South Australia and Victoria. What is available still depends on the source and location. We check for new NHVR data every week and update PadRoute when it changes.

Location only while PadRoute is open

PadRoute uses your location to show where you are and give directions. At launch, it does not keep tracking your location after you close the app.

Everything unlocked during beta

Try it properly. Tell us what earns its place.

Every feature is open while PadRoute is in beta. After that, Pro may cover extra tools for busy drivers, fleets and operators. Essential route, safety and driver information will stay free.
