Step 1

Import your approved route

Choose the NHVR-approved route for an upcoming job and send it to the driver through your usual dispatch channel. The driver imports the NHVR route or a supported GPX, KML or GeoJSON route file into PadRoute Pro on their phone.

Step 2

Create and save the journey plan

Select the vehicle for the job, confirm its configuration and height, and build the journey plan around the imported route. Before pinning it for reuse, review:

• The route and conditions

  Confirm the plan follows your approved route. Check access for any connecting roads and read the conditions that apply to the selected vehicle.

• Clearances and stops

  Compare mapped bridge heights with the actual vehicle height, including its load. Review suitable rest areas, fuel and parking along the run.

Resolve outstanding questions using official sources and relevant permits before departure. Agree who the driver contacts if anything is unclear.

Step 3

Follow the plan with turn-by-turn guidance

Drivers open the saved journey plan, confirm the vehicle and recheck conditions before departure. They can then follow the trip with turn-by-turn guidance and warnings before the access status changes ahead, while PadRoute is open.

Coverage and sources

Find stops and facilities across Australia, including rest areas, service stations, truck parking and public weighbridges. Road access checks use available NHVR data for the ACT, New South Wales, Queensland, South Australia and Victoria. What is available still depends on the source and location.

PadRoute supports your checks; it does not replace permits, official maps, roadside signs or driver judgement. Importing a route does not create or extend an access approval. PadRoute is independent and is not endorsed by the NHVR.
